Fletch Face

Starting Monday, February 16,  street artist Fletch began adorning the City with dreamy chalk stencils for over 300 storytellers who selected this as a reward for contributing to Stage One of Picture Adelaide 2040.

Stage One was all about finding out what you love and value in the city today, and we received over 1,000 submissions!

Inspired by the fantastic tales you told of City life, and located in some of the most popular locations, Fletch's work evokes an iconic face looking towards images that define a picture of what people love about the city. From Colonel Light pointing over Montefiore Hill to Popeye travelling the Torrens - the 25 artworks across the City each include a different combination of imagery.

We tagged along with him as he started his work on the corner of King William Street and Franklin Street, before moving to Grote Street adjacent the Adelaide Central Market.

Check out the process of the man himself below, and  use our map to explore the city and find your rewards.

Stage 3 of Picture Adelaide is arriving in March 2015, with your chance to have your say on the future of Adelaide.
