Introducing Your Edible Garden
Picture Adelaide 2040, through the work of the City Community and Horticulture teams at Adelaide City Council, has just installed an Edible Garden in Bonython Park / Tulya Wardli.
The addition, just in time for the April School Holidays, was a reward selected by over 300 people from Stage One of the project.
It’s now in place for everyone in the City to enjoy, filled with seasonal autumn vegetables that are expected to flourish:
- Climbing Beans
- Spring onions
We encourage you to come down to check it out, and when vegetables start to sprout you’re very welcome to pick them.
How do you see the future of the Park Lands?
The timing of the Edible Garden installation fits perfectly with the questions we’re asking right now in Stage 3 of Picture Adelaide 2040.
With the Environmental Richness topic of our online discussion forum now open, we want to know about your vision for the Park Lands and the City’s sustainability over the next 25 years.
- How can we maintain and improve the Park Lands to meet the City’s growth and expectations of a vibrant green space?
- How can we grow the City’s population whilst ensuring Adelaide is a leading green city that addresses big issues including climate change and carbon footprint?
What do you think? It could be more facilities for sport, spaces for events, or even more community gardens. If you haven’t already signed up, it’s free, easy and we would love to hear your thoughts.
